The County holds a wide variety of public records but there is no central repository. These records are held by the office responsible for them. Many of these records are available online for a fee and all are available to the public from within each office. The above links list most commonly requested public records but please call the Commissioners Office if you do not see what you need. Greene County complies with the Pennsylvania Right-to-know law and that process is described here. Many current records are on the website as well.
You can pay your property taxes online or at the office of the Treasurer. If your taxes are delinquent, payments can be made at the Tax Claim Bureau. Both offices are on the first floor of the Greene County Office Building located at 93 East High Street in Waynesburg, PA 15370.
Your Property Taxes are based on the assessed value of your property and the millage rate set by the taxing authority; which can be your local municipality, your school disctrict, or the county. Greene County offers a variety of GIS and mapping products. The department that can assist you depends on the type of mapping information you are requesting. Parcel and Plat maps are available from the Assessment Office. Maps with respect to lot splits and land development are available through the Planning Commission. Addressing information is available through the Emergancy Management Agency. The GIS Technician in the Planning Commission can provide GIS data for specific queries and large datasets. The County also has full aerial photography of the entire county, provided by Eagleview/Pictometry and sales of imagery can be obtained from the Planning Commission. The County provides GIS data in ESRI shapefiles and MapInfo Tab files.
