Overview

About Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency
Founded in 1995, the Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency (GCTPA) is the official tourism promotion organization for Greene County. The agency works to promote and encourage visitation by showcasing the county’s diverse attractions, welcoming communities, and scenic natural beauty.

GCTPA represents a broad network of tourism-related partners, including agritourism, fairs and festivals, history and heritage sites, outdoor recreation, arts and culture, family-friendly attractions, dining, shopping, and lodging. Together, these partners help create memorable experiences for visitors while supporting local businesses and communities.

Tourism plays a vital role in Greene County’s economy. According to the 2024 Economic Impact of Travel and Tourism in Pennsylvania, visitors spent $82.4 million in Greene County, and tourism directly supported 556 local jobs. These figures demonstrate the industry’s significant economic contribution.

The agency’s mission is to build Greene County as a destination and stimulate the local economy by promoting the businesses, attractions, and natural assets that make the county unique.

The Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency is guided by a board of directors, with programs and initiatives recommended and implemented through active committees. The agency is funded by a county hotel and motel tax, a partnership program, grants, and other fundraising efforts, ensuring continued investment in tourism development and promotion throughout Greene County.
