Recycling program not accepting glass as of July 1

Effective Monday, July 1, 2019, glass will no longer be accepted by the Greene Arc Recycling Program.

Residents can add household glass bottles and jars to their regular garbage.

Greene Arc also requests that residents do not put plastic bags in any of the recycling bins; residents are being asked to put recyclables into the bins or use cardboard boxes.

For the recycling bins, Greene Arc only accepts the following: Plastics with recycling symbols 1 and 2 only (these are usually only food/drink, shampoo, cleaning product bottles; cans (food and drink cans no larger than one gallon); and newspaper, paper and cardboard.

Residents are asked NOT to put the following items into the recycling bins: Glass, plastics with any symbol other than 1 or 2, plastics without any recycling symbol, waxed milk cartons, scrap metal or wire, styrofoam, garbage, furniture, cloth items, toys and construction waste.
