RDA Community Transformation in Rogersville

Community Transformation in Rogersville

Did you know that the area developed by the RDA in Rogersville was once the site of the Center Twp High School/Rogersville Elementary School? The school fell into complete disrepair and was demolished in 2014, leaving only a pile of rubble. But thanks to a generous land donation by John and Kathy McNay in 2015, and PHARE grant funds from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), we began a new chapter for this space.

Since then, we've constructed 2 townhomes and 4 modular homes, with the last one completed in January 2024. These homes, ranging from 1300-1600 sq. ft., have removed blight, provided reasonably priced housing for Greene County residents, and added valuable properties back to the county. This project was made possible with the invaluable in-kind services and assistance from Center Township supervisors, showcasing the power of solid partnerships between the County and its municipalities.

The RDA is excited to continue working on similar projects in other townships to improve communities throughout Greene County.
