The Greene County Recycling Department hosts community events and reports all township recycling data to DEP. Greene Arc, Inc. currently serves as the recycling agent for the County of Greene and they are located at 197 Dunn Station Road Prosperity, PA 15329. Recyclables and drop-offs are accepted at this facility. For more information, please see below.

Recycling and Community Events

Electronics Recycling:
 

The County of Greene would like to announce that two Electronic Recycling Collection events will be held for 2022. These events will be held at the Greene County Fairgrounds on May 4th and September 21st from 2pm to 6pm. Greene County Employees and JVS employees will adhere to all CDC regulations and recommendations. For more information about these events, call 724-852-5300.
 

Basic Rules for Electronics Recyclng Events:
NEW THIS YEAR: NO LIMIT OF CRT STYLE TV
Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles and follow CDC recommendations.

No fee to recycle electronics except:

TV's with busted glass: $50.00
Freon appliances: $25.00 each for Freon removal.
Fluorescent light bulbs: $2.00


 

Tire Recycling:

A Tire Recycling event will be held on May 19th, 2021 at the Greene County Fairgrounds from 2pm- 6pm.  The Greene County Conservation District recently received funding to match tire disposal costs for Greene County residents.  The district will be accepting only passenger tires that are off the rim. Each tire that is collected will be charged a small fee of $1.00, up to 20 tires per person.  No tires will be accepted from any tire service company and/or auto repair shops. 

PA West Nile Virus Grant funding will offset the tire disposal cost for the Community Tire Recycling Event. Tires are the number one harbor for mosquitos during summer months.  This program was designed to aid in the reduction of habitat for breeding mosquitos. 

The County of Greene, in a partnership with Noble Environmental Specialty Recycling, LLC, will hold a new Household Hazardous Waste Collection on July 17th, 2021 from 9am- 1pm at the Greene County Fairgrounds 4-H Rabbit Barn. The new Household Hazardous Waste Collection event will accept the follow items for a small fee; paint, batteries, lightbulbs, household cleaners, solvents, anti-freeze, gasoline, motor oil, etc. 

Payments for the Household Hazardous Waste event will only be accepted via credit card and the prices are as follows;
Paint $1.10 per pound, Universal Waste $1.20 per pound, other Household Hazardous Waste $1.50 per pound and Propane Cylinders $10.00 per unit.

Greene Arc is the recycling agent for the County of Greene. Our recycling program instructs individuals with disabilities in the process of recycling, working well with others and staying on task.

If you bring items in a plastic bag, OPEN THE BAG AND DUMP ITEMS IN THE CORRECT BIN!
DO NOT PUT PLASTIC BAGS IN THE RECYCLING BINS!
